Welcome to Baier Auction Co., a proud 4th generation family business that traces its roots back to 1913 when Col. Henry Baier, a graduate of the Chicago School of Auctioneering, embarked on a journey that would lay the foundation for a century-long legacy.

Col. Henry Baier's early days saw him traversing southern Iowa in his trusty Model A, orchestrating auctions that ranged from farm and livestock sales to household auctions. His passion for the trade extended beyond the rural landscape as he enthusiastically conducted church bazaars and benefits, showcasing his dedication to community involvement.

In the 1940s, Col. Baier's sons, Delmer and Duane, joined the family venture, marking the beginning of a multi-generational commitment to the auction business. Even after Duane's passing, Delmer, alongside Dale Fessler, steered the Greenfield sale barn from its inception in 1942 until the late 1980s. Their expertise expanded to encompass land, farm, and household auctions, becoming a cornerstone of the community until Delmer's passing in 2003.

The transition to the 3rd generation was seamless, as Tim, with years of experience, continued the family tradition. Today, with the active involvement of Kolby, the 4th generation, Baier Auction Co. stands as a testament to longevity, reliability, and dedication.

Over the past 110 years, we have seen and sold nearly everything imaginable. Our journey has been enriched by the collaboration of numerous associate auctioneers and clerks who have played integral roles in our success. Through their contributions, we have upheld the time-honored and thrilling traditions of auctioneering, consistently providing honest and exciting services to citizens and communities alike.
